Join us in Moate library every Monday for Knit & Natter. We have a lovely knitting group who meet in our meeting room.

Bring your own craft and share ideas and inspiration with other like minded people.

We have about 12 members and are delighted to welcome new members

The patchwork and needlecraft group meet in Mullingar Library every Monday at 1pm. Bring along your projects and share ideas. New members always welcome but please note that materials are not provided.

The group is self-sufficient and there is a selection of suitable toys and hand-picked books available.

Bring your current knitting or crochet work in progress along to Athlone Library every other Tuesday at 10.30am to meet others who enjoy crafting.

Have you ever heard about soil health?

Soil isn't *just* dirt. It is full of life, nutrients, and it plays a vital role in keeping water pure. Learn more about soil ecology and health with Soil Your Scarf in Mullingar Library.

Join ecologist Jess Leonard  in a citizen science project that invites you to knit a tiny scarf (knitting is optional and all materials are provided) while talking about soil ecology and care. The tiny scarf then becomes a measuring device that can be buried within the topsoil to gauge soil life activity and health. See magnified mesofauna living in previously buried scarves and learn about how to protect and care for your own garden soil!
