A dynamic 4-week creative writing workshop with award-winning storyteller and filmmaker Leah Egan.
Designed to spark imaginative exploration, strengthen skill and empower writers to overcome creative blocks; each session will offer participants an opportunity to engage in invigorating discussion, writing practice and constructive feedback in a supportive, nurturing environment. Whether you're just getting started or returning to your craft, this series will offer you the space, structure and practical encouragement essential to move your writing ability forward with a renewed sense of confidence, and trust.
The Facilitator | Leah Egan
Leah is an award-winning actor, director, screenwriter and storyteller. Author of two children’s book titles, three original theatre productions, and two short films, she has been writing in since 2009. Most recently, Leah’s second original short film Shelter - winner of Screen Ireland’s Actor as Creator award - premièred in Galway Film Fleadh. Fluent in Gaeilge, French, English, proficient in Irish Sign Language and presently learning Portuguese, Leah has long been fascinated by the power of words to move and connect. Originally from Athlone, she has worked as a storyteller in Ireland, Canada and the UK. Outside of her writing work, Leah is a recurring junior director on TG4’s Irish language show Ros na Rún. As a writer, she is in development for a theatre production funded by the Arts Council, Ireland and a six-part TV series rooted in Irish folklore and mythology.
