Event

Join the free Beginners Climate Course for the Over 55s with Jacinta Barrins, UN diplomat & climate mentor.

A free 6 week Beginners Climate Course for the over 55s, will start in County Buildings, Mullingar on Wednesday 14th January 2026, provided by Jacinta Barrins, retired UN Diplomat. It will run for two hours (10.30am -12.30pm) each Wednesday for 6 weeks.

The Course is about helping the 55+ to demystify climate change and focuses on explaining in common language what is climate change and why we are asked to take action. For example, she will explain the science behind the link between the cup of tea and climate change. Expect to be engaged and motivated. There will be lots of discussion on practical everyday actions that can be taken. She is targeting those who consider themselves as “beginners” to the topic and is encouraging both men and women to attend for robust conversations. Jacinta gives these courses on voluntary basis around the country.

Booking is essential, so please register if you are interested - one ticket covers all 6 weeks.
